In order to be a full time missionary in Costa Rica, Rachel must raise $2,600/month.
The current budget for 1 year is $32,000, a number that sometimes still seems insurmountable.
But my God is a God of the insurmountable! Here is a broad break down of costs / year.
What | Cost | Why |
---|---|---|
3 Visa Renewal Trips | $1800 | With gas prices and airline tickets and basically all costs on the rise, the price of a visa run has increased to about $600.
*I am looking into residency options. |
Transportation (To/From Country) | $700 | Round trip airfare 1x per year for fundraising. |
Rent/Utilities | $10800 | I’m a home owner! So good bye rent and hello mortgage! |
Property Taxes | $0 |
|
Transportation (In Country) | $1000 | I have found that I don’t travel much personally and so my personal transportation budget has greatly decreased. Although I do hope at some point that God will provide a vehicle. |
Communication | $180 | I’ve left the American phone company behind and got Magic Jack for 6 years! I am using a Costa Rican plan and so now my monthly cost is about $15. |
Ministry | $12000 | The ministry of Redeem Costa Rica now includes 2 offices and a food pantry! The ministry expenses are now averaging about $1000 per month. |
Food | $3600 | This budget allows for approximately $300 per month. I hope that this will allow for a normal (Costa Rican) diet and occasionally blessing someone with a meal. |
Medical/Dental | $1200 | I pay for all medical and dental out of pocket. This includes preventative appointments and daily medications |
Federal/State Taxes | $1500 | Now that I am registered with MEI I am considered self employed. We estimate my taxes for 2022 to be around $1500 |
